Future Homeowners

Do you know someone who lives in a substandard home who might qualify for a Habitat home? Do you want to know if you might qualify?

    • The selection of Habitat families is based on the need for a decent place to live, ability to pay a no-interest mortgage, and willingness to work 200 hours of "sweat equity" for each family member 18 years or older in partnership with us (minimum of 250 hours) as we build a home together.
    • We build simple decent homes with volunteers doing most of the construction.
    • The mortgage is based on the actual cost of construction.
    • At the closing, the family must pay a down payment of 1% of the cost of the house as well as the cost of the first year’s homeowners' insurance.
    • We build homes in Debary, Deltona, Enterprise, Orange City and Osteen and have built over 30 homes since 1990.
    • Besides helping to build houses here in our community, we help people of other countries have a decent place to live through the tithing of our income. Each quarter we send a tithe to Habitat for Humanity International in Americus, Georgia.
    • If you think you might qualify to become a Habitat homeowner, call the office at 386-774-1553, and ask for an application to be sent to you.
